Restatements (Questions 9-12)

This part consists of several sentences, each followed by four possible ways of restating the
main idea of that sentence in different words. For each question, choose the one restatement
which best expresses the meaning of the original sentence.

9. 	 There are several strains of the dangerous dengue virus, and exposure to one does not

       create immunity to the others.

       (1) The best way to become immune to the dengue virus is to be exposed to one of its
            strains.

       (2) The dengue virus is not harmful if one has already developed immunity to it.
